Re: Add Echo to voice and not to backing track
As this is a new question I've split it to a new topic. For reference, when starting a new topic please click the "New Topic" button in the section of the forum that is appropriate to your Audacity version and operating system. For example, if you are using Audacity 1.3.13 on Windows, go h...

Re: funny noises when recording to audacity
Since changing my OS to Linux Mint (Debian) I am getting clicks in the recording On further investigation, it only occurs with the latest kernel update. If I boot with the previous 2.6.39 kernel the problem does not occur. If I boot with the new 3.0.0 kernel I get clicks when recording with PulseAu...

Re: Black Screen Crash when I open a browser, Windows XP SP3
Even if Audacity crashes really badly it should not affect the stability of your system. Black Screen crashes usually indicate that there is a deeper problem with the system other than a single application. Possible issues that come to mind are: There could be a bad bit in the RAM memory (run a thor...

You posted to the Audacity 1.2.x section of the forum. I'll move it to the 1.3.x section after I've posted this. I have an RCA connector from my tape deck, Plugged into what? Into the (mono) microphone input of your laptop? Into the stereo Line In of your desktop PC? Into the stereo line inputs of a...

Re: funny noises when recording to audacity
Since changing my OS to Linux Mint (Debian) I am getting clicks in the recording (intermittently a couple of samples will be at the wrong value). The only solution that I have found so far is to set the recording device to use ALSA directly (Recording device = hw:0,0) or to use Jack. I'm unsure why ...

Re: Cross-Fade (revisited)
If the user had feedback about the length selected and the Fade Length control defaulted to twice the selection it would be fine. The selection must include the region to be faded out and the region to be faded in as Nyquist only has access to audio that is in the selected region. The potential con...

Re: exporting data as text file at 24fps
1024 bands is the maximum number possible for a selection of 1/24 seconds, but that will only provide 7 frequency bands between 100 Hz and 400 Hz so there's not going to be much detail in the low frequency range.billw58 wrote:you want to choose 1024 bands to get reasonable resolution at the low frequencies
