Re: exporting file as .wav error
Use only letters, numbers, space, hyphen and underscore in file names. These are safe characters to use for file names. Depending on the operating system, other characters can cause problems.

Re: guitar USB interface

Probably not, as long as the audio interface that you are using has a suitable input for the signal that you are feeding into it. To get good quality results, a microphone needs to be plugged into a micropho...

Re: new code writing in audacity
This is another good start page for Nyquist scripting: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Plug-ins_Reference For working with Nyquist in Audacity I would highly recommend using Audacity 1.3.13 as it has much better support for Nyquist than the old 1.2.x version. Re: Questions about labels and saving

A 12 hour CD quality file will be about 7 GB. Define the beginning of the clip by inserting a marker; do the same thing for the end; double-...

Re: strange problems on cassette but radio OK?!
A simple thing that you can try is increasing the "Audio to Buffer" setting (Edit > Preferences > Recording). Try setting it to 500 (the default is 100). Doing this will probably make the playback/recording cursor move in jumps but that is nothing to worry about. Increasing the buffer allo...

Re: Cross-Fade (revisited)
My opinion: For a cross-fade effect I prefer the sine/cosine curve to the square root curve. It sounds smoother to my ear, and testing with long cross-faded noise samples, the RMS level appears to be more constant. I don't see a strong case for including the square root curve in the cross-fade effec...

I'm using "Audacity 1.3.14 (Unicode)". Do I have the same version as you?j9990 wrote:1.3 beta.
I still can't follow what I need to do to reproduce the problem. Could you give step by step instructions.
