Re: Exporting 24bit AIFF results in 16bit file. Bug?
MediaInfo is probably correct, it usually is.
The workaround is something I found on Linux. I hoped it might also work on Windows but didn't test.
Is FLAC a viable option for you?

Re: PC- best level for recording
I'm really looking for some guidance on what are the important things to look for when selecting a PC for a small and simple home recording studio My advice would be to go for better than minimum specifications. Audacity itself has fairly low specification requirements, but Windows 10 runs like a s...

Re: Host says "no midi interface" not CoreMIDI?
but maybe something to do with the programming of SINE player as an individual app Audacity doesn't like, even if it's disabled within Audacity, so for now, it seems Audacity isn't aware the SINE player exists and is working perfectly fine! I have no clue if this is the case, but the bottom line is...

For audio signal level, we generally recommend aiming for a peak level of around -6 dB (peaks about half the...

Re: Ocassional dropouts
I'm likely not going to decrease the sample rate, or bit depth. It's the reason I got the interface in to begin with Keep it at 24-bit. That should lower the noise floor and allow you more headroom. For normal audio, sample rates above 48 kHz don't really give any benefit. Whereas bit depth control...
