If you'd like some help with that, just start a new topic in the Compiling Audacity part of the forum and post details of your operating system as well as the actual errors that are shown.

Re: Clipping/Distortion/Fuzz at Low Recording Volumes

Just to clarify that in the same way, the above depends on your Quality Preferences being set to the default 32-bit float in the first place. If not, any clipping from the render cannot be removed by Amplify. Yes, and although 32-bit is the default Quality setting I should have mentioned that. Also...

Yes it would be quite a lot of work, but it could be an interesting and worthwhile project. Don't expect it quickly ;)

Have you looked again at building from source?

Re: Zoom H2 for multitrack recording?

Are you really using Audacity 1.2.x? If you are, upgrade to Audacity 1.3.13 (get it here: http://audacityteam.org/download/ )

Exact instructions depend on which version of Windows you are using (Vista? XP? Windows 7 64?)
Have you tried plugging your headphones into the H2?

Re: Vocal Elimination

Mono : there is a tick mark next to Mono Good. That's exactly what you want. I am trying to eliminate vocals in am mp3 song stored on on the desktop. I did the following: 1. Import your stereo file into Audacity. 2. Open the track menu (click the arrow next to the track title), and choose “Split St...

Re: Compressor: shorter attack/release times?

An alternative approach could be to do away with most of the controls and have presets for different types of job. For example: Classical: -> Slow Attack / Decay times to even out gradual changes in RMS level. Dialogue: -> Medium Attack/Decay/Hold times to even out levels between different voices in...

Re: Compressor: shorter attack/release times?

When audio crosses the threshold level, the gain (amplification) of the audio is reduced so that the audio gets louder to a lesser degree. When the audio drops below the threshold, the gain goes back to unity (1:1) so that the audio below the threshold is unchanged. If there are a series of high pea...

kozikowski wrote:The graphic I see has no timeline. How are you seeing that a wave starts before zero time?
On the third track there are two arrows pointing to the left (near the vertical track scale) which indicate that there is audio before time zero.

Re: Alignment arrows on delete at zero point

I can confirm this. I think it's a bug. Audacity should not set a selection start that is less than time zero. I agree that it's odd, but I'm not totally convinced that it is a bug. Let's say that you drag an audio track so that it starts before time zero. In this case, if the selection is from tim...

Re: L1 or L2 Ultramaximizer.

Audacity does not support real time processing so I think that it's unlikely that the meters will display properly.
You could try the Demo version to see if it works and let us know the outcome so that we can add the information to the list on the wiki http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/VST_Plug-ins
