Re: Can't hear audio

The biggest problem is persuading Windows to do the right thing. I presume that you are using Windows? Which version? Once Windows is configured to let you record it's all pretty straightforward. Also seems to shut off the sound on my media player, and even AOL doesn't say "you've got mail"...

Your the only one that I've heard of.

Here's a direct link to the home page of the manual http://manual.audacityteam.org

As they are designed specifically for that one job, a good batch converter can be faster and more convenient than using a Chain in Audacity. LameDropXPd is a good, MP3 free encoder (available optimi...

Re: Compressor: shorter attack/release times?

So we know the proper values are arriving to be used in the calculations That's good to know, and now after giving myself a headache I've worked out what's going on with the Attack/Release times. They appear to be the time for the envelope to fall/rise between "threshold" and "floor&...

Re: Can't hear audio

Before I throw this ting in the trash is there anyone out there who can help me? Don't throw it yet. I expect we can help but I'm just on my way out. Audacity does not record audio files . Audacity records Audacity Projects. To create a file that can be burned to CD, Export as a WAV file. See here ...
