Re: Adding a threshold to the equalizer
Personally I think that goes against the purpose of an Equalizer. IMO an Equalizer should be (ideally) free of distortion and adding a clipping control would be confusing to many users. I'm not against the idea as an effect. Currently the only distortion effect that Audacity ships with is the Levell...

Re: Vinyl recordings, correct level, amplify/normalize, samp
Nice to see so much detail, it really helps :) 1) Is my recording level acceptable? It looks a little low, but acceptable. From the web site info there does not appear to be any gain control on the Traktor Audio 6, and the quoted 29.1 dB gain is a little on the low side, though some DJ 12" sing...

Re: Frequncy handling capabilities
Your cheap, inexpensive sound card may not make it to 20KHz. The problem is worse - most good/expensive sound cards are specifically designed to cut off not much over 20 kHz so as to reduce picking up interference. For digitally recording frequencies that are substantially above 20 kHz you are like...

Re: Annoying behavior, which must have a simple fix.
AhHa, I see what you mean. I've never noticed the issue before as I'm on Linux and I can just push the main Audacity window onto another Desktop and keep just the toolbar(s) on the original Desktop, but it looks like Windows still has only one Desktop. I've not tried it, but I've several third-party...

Re: Sliding Scale Clicking
I presume that you mean the "Sliding Time Scale / Pitch Shift" effect? As with all time stretch type effects, this effect is inexact because in order to achieve time stretching it is necessary to chop the sound up into little pieces, stretch the pieces then stitch them all back together ag...

They're rather basic, but the sound quality should be quite good.JesusJFunk wrote:My usb interface is a Behringer U-control uca200 which as i undertand isnt the greatest one.
What sort of microphone and how is it connected to the UCA 200?

Re: Compressor: shorter attack/release times?
BTW, strangely enough, it works best if I set it to a really short attack time while keeping the release/decay at 1 second. That's why I made my patch to only have 1 decimal place for the Release time. It's not often that a really short Release time is advantageous. I don't recall if you said what ...
