Re: Can't record guitar through amp
On many laptops the "Mic" input is specifically designed for "microphones". The signal level of a typical microphone is extremely small - around 1000x lower than a headphone output. It sounds like this is the case with your Toshiba Satelite C665 and the mic input is being heavily...

Re: Bass boost
On consulting HELP I am told that it only works 'when the Audio is on'--what is meant by this If you could indicate exactly where you read that I'll have a look to see if it makes sense in context. Effects (and most other menu items) are unavailable when Audacity is Recording, Playing or Paused. Ef...

Re: Track uncollapse doesn't work?
Topic moved to the Audacity 1.3.x forum.

That is currently not possible. The only effects that work in Chains are those listed.
Support for additional effects is planned for the future.

Re: Edit Chain crash
Steve, could you update and check again in HEAD on Debian? Not so good :( Testing with r11311, no crash with Amplify but Segmentation fault with Normalize. Other effects crash some of the time but not 100% repeatable. I guess I must have been lucky when I tested before. Added to Bugzilla as bug 455.

Re: deletion problems

Does the track play correctly before you delete the section?
