Re: Blending tracks.
Ensure that you have set the Device Toolbar to use the actual recording device and not "Microsoft Sound Mapper".

Re: What is the best settings for reverb in Audacity? (For vocals/singing)
What is the best settings for reverb in Audacity? (For vocals/singing) That entirely depends on what sort of vocal reverb effect you want. I'd suggest that you start with either "Vocal I" or "Vocal II" factory preset ("Manage" button > Factory Presets") and adjust...

Re: Did Windows update conflict with Audacity?
It may have.
See if the sound card driver has been updated, and if it has you could try rolling back to the previous version.

Re: voice recording got some high pitch noise
I wonder if the noise came from the original wave file having too much high pitch background noise? The kind of noise in your "258-5.wav" file is known as "digital artifacts" and is a common problem caused by certain kinds of digital processing including noise reduction and data...

Re: Sounds Flatlined
I suspect what happened is that Audacity was still open when you left your computer last night and then the Windows update + restart wiped out the audio data in Audacity's temporary folder. If that's the case then the audio is gone (forever). I don't think there's any way to know for sure if that's ...

Re: Voice playback speed
Select the whole track with the button on the left. Effect > Change Speed > Multiplier 1.088 > OK. Is that more normal? Yes, it's definitely mor normal sounding That indicates a sample rate issue. When I record a voice over track, it plays back slower (like slowing down an analog tape) and I can't ...

Re: Can't build Audacity on Windows 10
Do you still get the error if you disable building the manual?
If you can, then you probably just need this small fix: https://github.com/audacity/audacity/co ... 104f340d99

Re: Is there a way to recover it?
The "_data" folder contains the project's audio. If the "_data" folder is missing, then you have no audio.

Re: Sound fades out when sent over Zoom
It's probably due to Zoom automatically adjusting the audio level.
I'm quite surprised that you got it to work at all. Zoom normally takes over the sound system and prevents other audio apps from working.

Re: Newbie question
the recording was quite bad. Lot's of echo, not much detail, hard but not impossible to hear drums, voice audible but also not great. For anyone who knows Festival Hall in Melbourne you will know what I mean. It's almost impossible to remove reverberation. It sounds like the recording quality is to...
