Re: Paste without inserting?
especially as the audio I'm using to cover the gaps is taken from just before the gap. Basically I just want an easy way to extend the audio so that it covers the gap, but without changing the total time. For this special case I've got a possible solution for you to try: 1) Select the part that you...

Re: Loop Measure Labels
Because I also often found it unfortunate that Nyquist prints only the first six digits after the dot I wrote a function that computes the missing digits from the number of samples after the dot, and therefore works best if the floating-point number represents the length of an Audacity selection or...

Re: Single channel choice crashes! Help!
The audacity.txt attachment is at the bottom of this post (though it does not show up on the quoted text). Re: Noise Floor
The -72db figure that you are seeing is accurate, but a bit misleading. Audacity works internally with 32-bit float data. This offers an extreme level of precision to processing tasks and the theoretical maximum SNR (signal to noise ratio) is some ridiculously high figure (very good). Unfortunately,...

Re: digital recorder files will not burn onto a CD
You don't need Lame if you are burning CDs. Lame is only used for exporting MP3s. For burning CDs you should export as WAV not MP3. Audacity 1.2.6 is really old. I'd highly recommend that you upgrade to Audacity 1.3.13 http://audacityteam.org/download/ (yes it works fine on XP). Before you export, c...

Re: Unwanted Ringing Tone
The bass boost may be causing the overall level to go too high and so cause distortion. Before you use the Bass Boost effect, try using the Amplify effect and set the "Amplification (dB)" setting to -6 (minus six). This will reduce the overall level of the track and so leave more space for...
