Re: Converting stereo LP to digital
Windows 7 has its own recording/playback settings - check that they are also set to stereo. http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer ... es#vistacp
Are you sure that your computer's recording input is stereo? On many laptop PCs the "Mic" input is mono.

Re: Playing file too slowly! (Urgent)
Running 1.2.6 on Windows Vista. The recommended version for Vista is 1.3.14 You will probably also want to install Lame and FFMpeg. The downloads are here: http://audacityteam.org/download/ http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/FAQ:Installation_and_Plug-Ins#How_do_I_download_and_install_the_LAME_MP3_e...

Re: Decoding SSB OM recorded files
How have you recorded the transmissions? What format are they?

Re: Background recording noise
The sound card can be found here: OK, found the manual, but it does not say much. The moment I adjust the input volume slider to 0.1 Which input volume slider do you mean? The one in Audacity? have you tried recording? What happens when you try to record a signal? Do you get a full scale (0 dB) sig...

Re: Background recording noise
I'm not sure that I'll be able to help you. It sounds like it may be a problem with the ST-Lab M-330 but I can't even find it listed on the ST-Lab web site. Did you get any instructions and/or a driver disk with the device? Which version of Windows are you using?

Re: How record with 2 mics?
I don't know anyone that manufactures them commercially, but they are very simple to make - there are only 3 components including the battery. Instructions for how to make them are readily found on web-sites - here's one: http://www.epanorama.net/circuits/microphone_powering.html When using a batter...

Assuming that you are using Audacity 1.3.14 (if not you should upgrade: http://audacityteam.org/download/ ) Method 1 1) Click where you want the space. 2) Generate > Silence Method 2 1) Click where you want the space 2) Edit > Clip Boundaries > Split (shortcut: Ctrl+I) 3) Change to the Time Shift to...

Re: Noise removal: identical for both channels?
it's not looking at a recording chain or an on-board soundcard. The Noise Removal effect has no idea where the audio came from, it just uses the audio that you give it. Same with all other Audacity effects. The point of the test is that if the noise profile was stereo, one channel of the processed ...
