Re: "Normalize" a multi-channel show
How about the equivalent of the "double-click-on-the-gain-slider" dialog, but apply the relative adjustment to all tracks? or a "Link Gain Sliders" button on the Mixer Board? As Edgar said, designing and placing of a control in the GUI is a QA question first. Do we want to start...

Re: Cannot Export
For Vista and Windows 7 you should be using Audacity 1.3.14 but you have posted in the Audacity 1.2.x part of the forum. Assuming that you are actually using Audacity 1.3.14: Go to "File > Open Metadata Editor" In the Metadata Editor click on the "Clear" button, then the "OK...

Re: "Normalize" a multi-channel show
I'm not a C+ programmer but I suspect that option 2 (move all channel sliders by the same dB amount) would involve a lot less programming than option 1 (which I agree would probably need a "proper" mixer board view and would be a major project).

Topic split and moved to the Audacity 1.3 forum. "Windows Sound Mapper" sets Audacity to use the Windows sound settings that are configured in the Windows Control Panel. The recommended version of Audacity is 1.3.14 which you can get here: http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows On V...

Re: No sound - help!
Is there a visible waveform on the recorded track?
Do other things play in Audacity?
If you ar really using Audacity 1.2.x you should probably upgrade to Audacity 1.3.14 http://audacityteam.org/download/

The recommended version of Audacity is 1.3.14 which you can get here: http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows On Vista and Windows 7 the options to record sounds playing on the computer are often hidden or completely unavailable. See these two pages for how to enable the option, and for workar...

Re: clipping-top of one channel only
I think that it is more likely that the display in Audacity is correct. The waveform in CD Spin Doctor appears to be identical for both left and right channels which would be surprising unless the original recorded audio was mono. I suspect that CD Spin Doctor is creating the waveform display from a...
