2) Export a 32-bit WAV "Signed 32 bit" or "32 bit float"? (which woks at 320bit - actuall 24-bit plus 8-bit mantissa according to Brian's manual) I presume that you mean "which works at 32 bit" ? 24-bit plus 8-bit mantissa is "32 bit float". I doubt that a ve...

Re: Importing WMA
If it will not even play on the computer then there is nothing that Audacity can do with it.
Try searching Google for "migrate DRM license" or similar search terms.

Re: It gets worser everytime I play it :¬o
The distortion isn't glaring, but it's quite obvious by the forth loop on the vocal "my money". There appears to be no difference between the first time and last time. Try playing this file: test-loop.mp3 Other than MP3 compression damage and dither noise, each repeat is identical. If you...

Re: How to not scan plug-ins
Do you have time to check that for LADSPA and Nyquist on Linux On Linux there is no option in Preferences to "Rescan" (VST effects are not supported on Linux). There is no indication that recursive folders are scanned, and effects are not loaded from sub-folders of the normal plug-in dire...

Re: How to spot a 256kbps mp3 transcoded to 320kbps
im using Audacity 1.2.6, That explains it. The grid in Audacity 1.2.6 is not drawn to specific frequencies. The vertical lines are at fixed spacing so they do not tally with specific frequencies. If you upgrade to Audacity 1.3.14 the vertical lines on the grid are drawn in relation to frequencies (...

Re: DC Offset Removal - To do, or not to do ...
It depends on what else you are doing. If you are only doing cut/paste/delete/trim type edits to a single audio track recording, then I would say it's not worth doing, assuming the DC offset is very small. If in this case the final destination format is 16 bit, then the best results would be to set ...
