Re: Buttons won't work
Are you using Audacity 1.2.6 on Vista or Windows 7? If so, this is a known problem and the major reason why Audacity 1.2.x should not be used on these operating systems. Windows Vista and 7 are only supported in Audacity Beta. You can download Audacity 1.3.14 from here: http://audacityteam.org/downl...

Re: EZ-Patch
Click on the name of the track and from the drop down menu select "Split Stereo Track". You can then work on the two audio channels independently.Frediano wrote:How can I - for any purpose - select one, or part of one channel of a stereo file?

Re: Can't save my projects!
The temporary directory used by Audacity may not be the same as your system's temp directory. To check (and optionally set) the location of Audacity's temporary folder, look in "Edit > Preferences > Directories" Also on that screen "Play and/or record using RAM" should not be ena...

Re: 44100 at 16 bit limit?
Okay, I understand that...sort of. So you are suggesting that 44100 at 32 bit float is a good overall setting? When I installed 1.3.14 the default was 44100 at 16 bit, not 32 float, but I'll give 32 bit a try. Yes, 44100 at 32 bit is a good setting overall setting. It is the default for Audacity 1....

Re: It gets worser everytime I play it :¬o
You can get distortions like this if, for one remote example, your sound card is adding DC or battery voltage to the speaker or headphone connection. Not necessarily voltage to the speaker/headphone connection, but yes that's a good point Koz. Once the signal is back in the analogue domain, the sig...

Re: 1.3.14 Where is "cut" under Edit
It will also be grayed out during Play, Record and Pause. Audacity has to be in "Stop" mode.billw58 wrote:When Cut is greyed out it means there is no selection to Cut.

Re: DC Offset Removal - To do, or not to do ...
I have the "32 bit float" encoding and "WAV (Microsoft)" Header selected in the "Specify Uncompressed Options" dialog box - is that wrong? Since ClicKRepair is working at 24 bit float + 8 bit mantissa I'm guessing that I've been making the right export. Yes that's corr...

Re: Latency Error==I can no longer overdub
The error message is a bit misleading in this situation. What has happened is that (for some reason) recording has stalled right at the beginning of the recording. The new track (which may be just a few samples, or even no audio at all) was moved to the left, as per the "latency correction"...
