Re: Staying in rhythm when creating loops, editing
Just remembered this plug-in: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=38442&p=157572 It's a "Quick conversion calculator" that is available from the Audacity Generate menu. Although it does not actually "generate" anything, I made it as a Generate type plug-in ...

Re: Waveform inversion and the 0 dB ceiling
32-bit float format is able to handle values over 0 dB. Sound cards do not use "float format" they use "integer formats" so they will always clip at 0 dB. IF the files that you have are 32 bit float format then it may be possible to bring them back down to within the 0 dB limit b...

You've posted in the Audacity 1.2.x part of the forum but I doubt that you are using Audacity 1.2.x
Recording at a high and non-standard sample rate is a lot more demanding on the system than recording at a standard rate. Why not record at 44100 Hz?

Re: Zoom Q3HD Recorder - Best Sound Settings
PCM, 96kHz and 24 bit is a very high quality format, but the file size will be huge and the flash memory may struggle to keep up with the amount of data. Try a test recording with PCM. 44.1 kHz 24 bit and see how that goes (the recording quality is virtually identical, but less than half the amount ...

and I think my version is 1.2. You can check the Audacity version by looking in the Audacity help menu > About Audacity. I would highly recommend that you upgrade to Audacity 1.3.14 Unicode. http://audacityteam.org/download/ The easiest way to upgrade is to uninstall your current version first, the...
