Sound Finder could do with a new control "Ignore sounds shorter than [seconds]" . This would consider sounds that are shorter than the minimum duration to be part of the "silence". The use case is that it would enable removal of a lot of loud but short duration sounds. Not sure ...

I'd use MP3Split or mp3DirectCut before anything else. If you just want to make simple cut/trim type edits then you can probably do the job using only one or other of these. If you want to do more complex editing I'd recommend splitting the MP3s into more manageable size chunks, say 1 hour of audio,...

As far as I'm aware, Audacity 1.2.x does not support AC3 format. Not easily. Audacity Projects may contain multiple audio clips in the same track, each with a start position offset. You would need to identify the final audio clip (<sequence> ... </sequence>) in a track and its offset value, then add together the offset time with the sequence "numsamples"...

So are you saying that you can plug-in your keyboard to the computer sound card and everything is OK, but if you then unplug the keyboard and plug in the guitar then there is a delay?
