Re: Help needed for using frequency analysis
The x axis is scaled automatically according to the sample rate. I think that it's been requested previously for manual scaling, but the ability to do so would probably be less useful than it first appears, unless there was a major overhaul of how the tool works. The analysis breaks down the audio i...

Re: Submit your EQ Curves
Congratulations Irish, quite a mammoth job.
I've only looked at it briefly but looks good (testing on Debian Linux).
I'll hopefully have time to give it a thorough workout over the weekend.

Re: Mp3 download lame_enc.dll from untrusted source. Why?
sorry i did not explain clear enough. lame is open-source and i thought the port to audacity could also be open-sourced. There's no problem with source code as far as I'm aware - the problems come as soon as you try distributing a compiled binary. Even Lame don't distribute Lame as a compiled binar...

Re: Mp3 download lame_enc.dll from untrusted source. Why?
It might be better to OPEN SOURCE the code under GNU/GLP and put it on a free service like google code, sourceforge, etc. There is an open source alternative to MP3 - Ogg Vorbis http://www.vorbis.com/ Audacity fully supports Ogg natively - no additional downloads required, it's built into Audacity....

Re: Keeping audacity window open
If you have Audacity open and on top of your other program all of the time, how are you going to use that "other" program?
Are you going to tell us what that "other" program is?
Which version of Windows are you using?

Re: Mp3 download lame_enc.dll from untrusted source. Why?
Due to the controversy around MP3 patent claims it is not possible for Audacity to host LAME. Fortunately Buanzo is able to offer free downloads to the many millions of Audacity users. The cost of hosting is partly covered by advertising on his web site. Occasionally third party advertisements (over...

Re: how to find end of sound in overrun recording?
Press Ctrl + F The waveform will then be fitted into the window. You should be able to see where the audio ends and turns into silence. Select most (not all) of the silence (you don't want to accidentally cut off too much) by clicking and dragging along the waveform. Press the Del key to delete the ...

Re: Keeping audacity window open
Can't you just have it not-maximised and alongside the other program window?
Why do you need it on top?
