Re: LenovoThinkpad Stereo mix enabled, but still not operati
Has anyone found a solution to make Audacity work with XP? I have a Thinkpad T61. The problem is not with XP as such - I use a Toshiba laptop at work with XP and have no problem at all with using Stereo Mix in Audacity - the problem is with some sound card drivers and/or hardware. Trying to get ste...

Re: Plug-in to speed workflow?
As waxcylinder suggested, try the Sound Finder to mark the words with labels, then use Export Multiple to export each labelled region as a separate file. The process is similar to what is described in the first part of this tutorial: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Splitting_recordings_into_separa...

I think that would be really useful on all platforms.Gale Andrews wrote:Also hopefully some time in future we may have a system where you can selectively disable particular plug-ins from within Audacity rather than a global disable/enable.

Re: How do I add a click track intro to a backing track?
Once you have a click track at the right tempo the hard part is done. Import the music track (if you've not already got it in the same project as the click track) so that you have the music track and the click track one above the other. Select the "Time Shift Tool" (double headed arrow but...
Re: 2.0
The short answer... when it's ready ;) The longer answer: The developers are not going to release 2.0 until they are satisfied that all serious bugs are ironed out. There have been a couple of bugs that have only affected a small minority of people, but have caused data to be lost and so have been v...

Re: ? How do I use m audio Oxygen keyboards with audacity?
Again that appears to be a "controller keyboard" - that is, it produces MIDI messages rather than producing actual sounds. Audacity records sounds, not MIDI. It IS possible to record sounds using a MIDI controller keyboard, but that requires using a software synthesizer of some sort. Progr...

Re: WAV files won't show up in Windows Media Player
No, I cannot presently import my individual mono tracks from my recorder, or, at least when I click on them nothing happens. If you are able to get the individual audio tracks off your recorder and onto your computer (that's the part that we can't really help with, so consult your manual and if nec...

Re: why! recording audio adds skips to my voice
A reasonably modern computer should be able to do 6 or 7 tracks with ease, but the default set up for Windows is designed for running spreadsheets and the like, not for running a recording studio. To get decent audio performance it is often necessary to do a few tweaks and optimisations. See how you...

Re: Simple plug-in for creating partial fades
Put it in the Audacity Plug-ins folder, then restart Audacity and it will appear in the Effect menu (below "the line").
On Windows computers, this is usually under "Program Files". On Mac OS X, it is usually under "Applications"
