Re: Can't do multi-channel recordings?
how come i saw many channels at first and then next time i run Audacity, just 2! weird On my computer I can select up to 32 channels, though my sound card only actually has one stereo input. The reason for the extra channels is because the sound card drivers support up to 32 channels, and that is w...

Re: Cassette digitizing help
The cassette player should be connected with a suitable lead to both input 1 and 2 on the Cl1. You can then use the two "Gain" controls on the top of the unit so that you get a good level on both channels - aim for a maximum peak level in Audacity of about half the track height (about -6 d...

Re: Can't do multi-channel recordings?
If you set Audacity to record "2 channels (stereo)" and you connect only the guitar to the Line6 UX2, does it record on just one channel or both?
If it records on both channels, is there any way on the Line6 UX2 to "pan" the guitar sound to one side or the other?

Re: How Can I Rip / Record only Audio on a DVD -RW Video
it still sounded like a couple of tracks playing simultaneously [not as bad as before] Depending on how many files you import and your monitor screen size, you may need to scroll down the screen to see all of the imported tracks. If you have a wheel mouse you can scroll up/down with the wheel - if ...

Re: Distorted, silent sound
Is it a full size computer or a laptop?
Do you know what sort of sound card you have?
Which version of Windows are you using?

Re: Distorted, silent sound
What do you mean "it sounded catastrophic, silent, distorted"?
"Silent" and "distorted" seem contradictory.

Re: Why is exported MP3 file longer than original MP3 file?
How do I get Audacity to not add in silence at the beginning of an exported MP3 file??? There's only one way to do that - don't export as MP3. One of the limitations of the MP3 format is that there is always a short bit of silence added to the beginning (regardless of what encoder is used - it's a ...

Re: Plug-in to speed workflow?
when I convert the track to mono using "Tracks -> Stereo Track to Mono", it gives me no file size savings and no choice under the .mp3 export options to save as a mono file. Correct. When you export a project that is all mono, the exported file is automatically mono. When exporting as 128...

Re: Sound Finder / Silence Finder improvements
I think I may have it now: 1. Ignore sounds shorter than [seconds] IF AND ONLY IF separated from other sounds by more than the "Allow silence between sounds less than (seconds)" duration seems to mark the entire audio as one sound in both track.png and crackle.png. That's correct. If I hav...

Re: Automating operations in Audacity
One of the regular forum contributors (Edgar) has reported good results using AutoIt3 with Audacity. Regarding simulated stereo, there is a plug-in available from the first post in this topic that may be of interest: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=57770 (please post any quest...
