Re: store/retrieve cursor position in a macro? where's retrieve?

Is this what you are looking for? https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/scripting_reference.html#Select:_Region SelSave: | Store Selection | none | Stores the end points of a selection for later reuse. SelRestore: | Retrieve Selection | none | Retrieves the end points of a previously stored selection.

Re: help with LADSPA plugins

I've just looked in the Ubuntu Software Center and I see that the first option for Audacity is a Snapcraft (Audacity 2.4.2).

At the bottom of the list is the proper "deb" repository version (Audacity 2.3.3-1build1). Use this version.

Re: help with LADSPA plugins

I am on a Linux Mint 20 Mate system with Audacity 2.4.2 installed via the Linux Software Manager. Is that a Snapcraft version of Audacity? If so, then the problem is probably because due to sandboxing . The version of Audacity that is a "normal" installation (not Snapcraft or Flatpak) for...

Re: EWI through mixer to Audacity

Is "Garrity ARIA" a software synthesizer that you control with the Akai EWI USB?
Does it use ASIO?

What sort of mixer do you have?

Re: No sound through headphones

Upgrade to Audacity 2.4.2 (https://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/) and give Audacity permission to use the microphone.
Ensure that your settings are correct in the Device Toolbar.

Re: Scarlett 18i8 and Audacity

Focusrite says that this will not work with audacity. Is this true? Is there a fix? It is possible that you will only be able to record 2 channels at a time with Audacity on Windows. There's a common problem that audio device manufacturers don't bother to write multi-channel device drivers for Wind...

Re: recording with 2 usb mics

If you use the Aggregate Device trick, I believe the Mac will smash both sounds together into one channel. It can do, or you can keep them on separate tracks. It depends how you set up the aggregate device. When I tried it, each of the USB mics appeared as a stereo (?) USB device. I created a 4 cha...

Re: recording with 2 usb mics

Theoretically "yes", though it is a bit of a hack because the mics are not actually synchronized. I did manage to get this going when a friend lent me a couple of USB mics, and it worked quite well. I have since returned the mics so I can't give detailed instructions. Hopefully you will be...

Re: Audacity 2.4.2 serious problem

Try selecting the actual recording and playback devices (rather than "sound mapper") in the Device Toolbar.

If there is still a problem, please give more information about what you are trying to record and what audio devices you are using.
