Re: No sound playing .mp3
Sometimes Windows likes to record your turntable and then play the sound back to it, which is clearly not going to work. Windows usually does that by default. When you plug in a USB audio device Windows assumes that you want to use it for both recording and playback. Unplugging the USB device shoul...

Update to Audacity 1.3.14 beta (Unicode) http://audacityteam.org/download/ Use the Device Toolbar to set the Recording Input Device to the input on your computer that you are using (probably "Mic In". Definitely not "Stereo Mix"). Open the "Transport Menu" and ensure th...

Re: Recording with Audacity in the background.
Windows has very limited capabilities for routing audio streams. I doubt that it is possible to configure the system so that your sound card will work with fraps and simultaneously and independently work with Audacity.

Re: Track Splitting Workflow
can you not introduce a small field parser that simply throws away any characters Audacity currently doesn't like. I'm not a C+ coder, but I doubt that it is as simple as that. Audacity fully supports the two most common standards - ANSI and UTF-8. The problem that you experienced was due to Window...

If the drop down menu is changed to show “Line in/Mic in” “Record” is automatically selected and “Playback” is deselected. In the panel below are the following items: Recording Control (ticked) Line Volume (ticked) Microphone (ticked) Stereo Mix (not) Tick the final option (Stereo Mix) as well as t...

Re: How do I edit using [ and ] ?
It seems that, while I am playing a section, I should be able to hit some key or key combination to start a section and another to stop a section to have the space between the queues to be highlighted. Yes, the "[" and "]" keys should do that. (I was not previously quite sure wh...
