Re: Problem with tracks.

I tried it out again just now and I successfully recorded two independent tracks using a vocal mic plugged into the rear mic jack, but only after I had unchecked the "mute" box for the "Microphone" control in addition to the "Line Volume" control. You probably only nee...

Re: "not well formed (invalid token)" error when recovering

Not sure I'll find the time but I'll have a look at the source code. On http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Developing_On_Windows, at line To develop in C/C++ for Windows you need a second download from Microsoft, the "Platform SDK", or the later "Windows SDK". Check here for the ...

Re: Request clarification for Binaural Beats plug-in

Could you post a link and the exact name of the effect that you are referring to (there is more than one "Binaural Beats" plug-in in existence).

Re: "not well formed (invalid token)" error when recovering

'Check here' points to a broken link. What's the right link? This section of the wiki is being rewritten to bring it up to date, but it's not a simple job so it could be a while before it is fully updated. Here are some interim notes on the subject: http://www.hometownband.org/CompilingAudacity.htm...

Re: Problem with tracks.

I tried laying down a track with the sound module using my mouse to point and click on the virtual keyboard. Woha! you've just shifted the goal posts to a different football pitch. You said that you were recording a guitar. Recording sounds that are playing on your computer is an entirely different...

Re: Nudging audio with arrow keys?

Actually the Time Shift Tool lets me drag the audio - but I'm looking for minor adjustments I normally do that by zooming in first (Ctrl+Mouse Wheel), that way I can "nudge" the track along by as little as a single audio sample if I want to. An alternative method: To nudge a track a littl...

Re: Cue Sheets

by default it inserts 2 second gaps. That is the red book standard . Audio CDs should have a 2 second gap between tracks, though K3B does also allow you to burn gapless audio CDs if your hardware supports that. It can't check the audio image against the cd image (aka. verifying audio cd after burni...

If your computer is connected to the Internet, you should at least do the "security" updates so as not to present your computer as an easy target.
I agree that installing "optional" updates can be a bit risky.

I quite understand. Regardless of whether this plug-in sounds as "good" or not, it will almost certainly sound "different".
