Many (most) laptop PCs have very poor quality sound cards (even really expensive laptops). You may be able to improve the signal by going into the Windows Control Panel Sound settings (see here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer_Toolbar_Issues#vistacp ), but to get good quality clean recording...

Hi, Everytime I export to mp3, .05 secs of silence is inserted at the beginning. So it no longer matches the labels. How do I prevent it from inserting that silence? Export in a different format. I'm sensing you're taking me away from my goa I'm trying to understand your goal and work out how I may help you. Audacity Project files are always quite small. Typically they will be less than 100 KB. Audacity Project files have a ".aup" file extension. They do not contain any audio data...

If the audio in the Audacity Project is stereo, then the exported WAV will be stereo.

Where is it "loud suddenly"? The sample that you posted seems to be all about the same volume, though there is some harsh distortion from time to time.
