I presume that you are using a single loudspeaker? If you have two loudspeakers then there will be comb filter effects caused by the interaction of the two sound sources. I am also a new user and having trouble exporting a WAV file. I exported 3 files as WAV yesterday with no problem. Tonight I tried and it won't do it. Period. When I ask it to export as a WAV file it shows that the file is saved. When I try to attach it in an email, the file is nowhere to be found....

Look in "Edit > Preferences > Playback" and check that the "Length of Preview" is not set too long. Around 5 seconds should be enough to tell if your settings are right, and should be reasonably quick to preview.

What sort of Mac are you using?
