Re: 78rpm EQ Curve Generator

If it's confirmed that Nyquist can save files that contain a "/" in the name then I'll change the validator function. Just heard from Bill who has confirmed that files with a "/" in the file name do gets saved with the "/" in the file name (the forward slash is not int...

Re: Sound Finder / Silence Finder improvements

I probably assumed a reworked version would be available in the not too distant future, so it could be done then. Is it important this is done for 2.0? I don't think that it is hugely important for 2.0, but hopefully we can have a new version soon after, so there's probably not much point in updati...

Re: Strange attenuation of different frequencies

I presume that you are using a single loudspeaker? If you have two loudspeakers then there will be comb filter effects caused by the interaction of the two sound sources. Also, it is very rare that speakers will produce a coherent wavefront across the audio frequency range. Other speakers, in effect...

Re: 78rpm EQ Curve Generator

Neither do I, but although "/" is the file separator on Mac it is translated internally by the OS so should be accepted. You can save a filename including forward slash in Save or Export in Audacity (not export multiple). Thanks Gale, I didn't know that. Has the current 78rpm EQ Curve Gen...

Re: Unable to Export into wav file

I am also a new user and having trouble exporting a WAV file. I exported 3 files as WAV yesterday with no problem. Tonight I tried and it won't do it. Period. When I ask it to export as a WAV file it shows that the file is saved. When I try to attach it in an email, the file is nowhere to be found....

Re: Newb: Sharpening dull old BBC recording

Look in "Edit > Preferences > Playback" and check that the "Length of Preview" is not set too long. Around 5 seconds should be enough to tell if your settings are right, and should be reasonably quick to preview.

Re: 78rpm EQ Curve Generator

Looks like we're good to go with the validator. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 40&t=63512
Just need to fit it into the "Save File" function now.

Re: Flat lining when exporting from audacity project

I was looking through the MP3s that I thought I had produced successfully and the first set of bad albums started on 11/4/2010. I think that's when I switched from 1.2.x to 1.3.11...if that matters. You would not see the problem in Audacity 1.2.x because even if "bad samples" existed in t...
