Re: high freq. noise problem
Why does the noise level suddenly drop at about 30 seconds? That's going to make noise removal a lot more difficult and less effective - Noise Removal works best on low level constant background noise.

Re: Set-up Clarification
Please use normal size text when possible - large text can be problematic on small displays and is generally not easier to read. There are lots of plug-ins and add-ons for Audacity, but to get to know the program well you would probably be best using the standard install for a while. With too many p...

Re: ReplayGain
I think it’s more straight forward to enter a target level, than having to work out the amount to adjust by to get to that level. What do you think? That would be nice, but the plug-in does not know what the dBFS level will be. The plug-in is attempting to work out how "loud" the track is...

Re: Playback issue with pulseaudio
I'm speculating here, but after some playing around with this I suspect that the root of the problem is simply that the virtual environment is just not fast enough for PulseAudio. The idea of low latency sound systems is to get the software "close" to the audio hardware - adding a virtuali...

Re: Creating Custom Backing Tracks
First I'd recommend that you upgrade to Audacity 1.3.14. Audacity 1.2.6 is really old and hasn't had any bugs fixed for years (development on the 1.2.x series ended several years ago) Audacity 1.2.6 will still be available for a short while, but will be finally "retired" when Audacity 2.0 ...

Re: Playback issue with pulseaudio
I've built the latest version of Audacity from the svn source code (which takes ages on my VM) If you want to try this you'll find instructions here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Developing_On_Linux (Tip: It's easiest to install dependencies using Synaptic as some of the library names are sligh...

Re: Playback issue with pulseaudio
Audacity will not let me use ALSA for playback (set by selecting the virtual sound card in the dropdown) after the pulseaudio volume control has been open concurrently with Audacity. If I try to use ALSA for playback and the pulse audio volume control has been open at any time while Audacity has be...

Re: How can I convert a track from 435hz to 440hz?
Raise the pitch by 1.15%
(440-435/435) x 100 = 1.149425287
