Re: Audacity crashes pulseaudio recording when opened

Sorry. That was the one I posted in the Mint thread. Here's a new one. test.wav That is very interesting and not what I expected at all. I've never seen this problem before. I reduced the sample rate to 4000 Hz, effectively slowing down the track by about 91%. Does this sound a bit like you? test2....

Re: Reversing the Measurement of the Vertical Scale

I want to see the magnitude of decibels in 'half wave' start at 0 from the bottom, and increase in units in height. If you mean like this (below) then select "Half Wave" from the vertical ruler menu. (see this page: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/vertical_zooming.html#simple) First T...

Re: Mono vs Joint Stereo

If your Audacity tracks are all mono and you have not panned them left / right, then an exported MP3 will be mono regardless of the settings. "Force to mono" will convert a stereo project to mono, but if the project is already mono then it doesn't need to be converted because it's already ...

Re: Click between labels to quickly highlight the audio

Someone in that thread suggested I make a feature request. I wasn't trying to spam the boards. OK, no problem. ;) I don't mind if either thread gets deleted, especially if the conclusion is that what's already there is good enough. We've now got a link to the full discussion, so I'll leave that the...

Re: looping without playing entire clip or file

It should somehow be possible to start a Loop Play from the current cursor position. The concrete use case is, as OP stated, when you have rather long clips you want to seamlessly loop, you place the cursor right before the seam and trigger a Loop Play. Audacity now has "Quick Play" from ...

I also see that David Bailes provided you with a way to achieve what you want in your duplicate topic: viewtopic.php?p=408514#p408514
(Please avoid starting duplicate topics. It makes it much harder to follow a discussion if it is split across multiple topics.)

Re: Click between labels to quickly highlight the audio

This is mostly useless behavior. Not at all useless. It's a quick and easy way to select all labels, just like double click on an audio clip to select the audio clip. If you want to select regions you could create region labels rather than point labels. With region labels you can simply "Tab&q...
