Re: Speed Up Playback of MP3

Try using the Truncate Silence effect. This effect can cut down the spaces between words, making the talking much faster but without damaging the sound quality.

Re: both recorded channels sound the same

It unfortunate that Behringer says no special drivers are needed, because only the installation of drivers that I got from them solved the problem. For information, I have a Behringer UCA 202 (same as the UFO 202 but without the phono pre-amp). I have used it on Windows XP, Vista and Linux and it h...

Re: show frequency

Looking at a test file I'm not sure which settings would produce best result. I'm having varying results and the frequency that should go on top don't always appear strongest on the plot. Look for the highest peak that is close to the expected frequency. Set the "Size" parameter in "...

Re: Silent subliminal function

You seem to say this directly, but the code you present is an AM of the signal produced by two ultrasonic sources, correct? In the first code sample in this topic, yes that's correct. Is it possible to create a "carrier wave" of say 14.5KHz sine tone that has selected audio encoded/embedd...

Re: Sound Finder / Silence Finder improvements

What was the second one? That's the one about splitting audio books so that you get reasonable size "chapters". I think this is fairly straightforward but for clarity we can look at that later as a separate issue. The "contentious" issue is about handling "allowed silence&q...

Re: Behringer UCA 202 Questions

Audacity is not good for Recording Skype. It is difficult to get both sides of the conversation at similar volumes. Specialist Skype recording programs (such as Pamela) work a lot better for recording Skype. The Behringer UCA 202 is a decent little USB sound card but it is designed specifically for ...

Re: Nyquist FFT Tutorial Help

Is -16 the correct result? It looks like Nyquist has been updated since that tutorial was written. Testing in Audacity 1.3.14 I get the same result as you ( 9th element -16, all other elements close to zero). Testing in Audacity 1.3.4 I get the same result as the tutorial (9th element -1, all other...

What % did you try?
What happened when you did that?

If you don't get the result that you want, you can "undo" the effect by selecting "Undo" from the Edit menu.

Re: Sound Finder / Silence Finder improvements

What I'm saying is that I can add two new features to Sound Finder. So we start with Sound Finder, as it currently exists in its "shipped with Audacity" form. This plug-in has 5 controls: "Treat audio below this level as silence [ -dB]" "Minimum duration of silence between s...
