Re: Trying to get a SM58 mic to work with my computer setup.?.?

I don't know if taking the front of a microphone apart is that good an idea. Behind the grill cap are the hair thin wires and foil of the sound sensor. One touch in the wrong place and that's the end of the microphone. Not really a problem with a genuine SM58. The mic capsule is securely attached t...

Re: basic editing: clip boundary question

i have track 1 and it has a lot of splits on it, Why is that? Are you trying to salvage someone else's work? i find that, if i have a long clip to delete, and it's followed by a lot of shorter clips, the right boundary of the deleted clip remains on the timeline, imposed over some wholly other clip...

Re: Audacity crashes pulseaudio recording when opened

Which version of Audacity do you currently have installed? How do you listen to audio playback? Headphones plugged in somewhere? From "Help menu" or "Help menu > Diagnostics", select "Audio Device Info". Click the Save button to save the info somewhere convenient, then ...

1) In Audacity, are you using the onboard (Intel) or graphics card (NVidia) audio devices for recording and playback?
What is the output from these commands (copy and paste the full output):

Code: Select all

pacmd list-sources

Code: Select all

pacmd list-sinks

Re: Audacity crashes pulseaudio recording when opened

1) In Audacity, are you using the onboard (Intel) or graphics card (NVidia) audio devices for recording and playback? 2) Are you using proprietary NVidia drivers (installed with Driver Manager) or the open source Nouveau driver? Good questions. I'm also thinking that it could be some sort of weird ...
