Re: No edit tools!

Is Playback "Paused"?
Effects are only available when "Stopped" (not Play, Pause or Record).

Re: Sound Finder / Silence Finder improvements

I see your point PGA. My "Swiss Army Knife" does not have one of those things for de-scaling fish and it doesn't have one of those things for getting stones out of horses hooves, but it fits neatly in my pocket and it's still a useful tool that does many useful tasks. On the other hand, it...

Re: (help)for my recording please.....

I agree with PGA that using three separate Audacity Projects is an over-complicated method that can easily go wrong (as it did), but PGA missed that you are using Audacity 1.2.x, which is the cause of the "wrong speed" problem. Audacity 1.2.x is very old and is due to become officially obs...

It doesn't sound good through my laptop speakers, but nothing ever does - they're rubbish.
It sounds OK through other speakers - I can clearly hear what is being said.

Re: AU. Audio Units are they the same as AU Plug-ins

Re: Sound Finder / Silence Finder improvements

I am a little surprised it makes as many labels as that - is it making a "sound" out of every vowel? It's making a label every time the waveform rises above the "silence threshold" and goes down below the threshold again, which can be more than once per word. For example, if a w...

Which exact version of Audacity are you using? (the full 3 part number as shown in "Help > About Audacity")

What do you have selected in the Device Toolbar and what other options are available?

Re: increase latency to reduce mic clipping??

Someone at another forum told me I should actually increase latency to reduce the clipping?? Either they were talking rubbish, or you misunderstood them. Increasing latency will do nothing to reduce clipping. Latency and clipping are unrelated. Which model "EV condenser mic"? What are you...

Re: LISTENING TO FIRST TRACK WHILE RECORDING SECOND TRACK

As none of you have said which version of Audacity you are using, I'd advise you all to update to Audacity 1.3.14 (Unicode) which you can get from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/ As you all have different problems, but all related to incorrectly or badly functioning sound systems on your com...

Re: Join 2 long recordings- easier way?

The yellow line does not indicate that the track is "selected". The yellow line indicates that it is the "current track", or in technical terms, it is "the track that has focus". When audio is selected, it is "highlighted" with a darker colour. If you press th...
