Re: Compressor: shorter attack/release times?
to clarify: were you able to get the compressor settings to show in milliseconds instead of seconds? No, the Audacity Compressor effect is designed to use fairly long (slow) Attack/Release times (minimum "Attack" time = 0.1 seconds, minimum "Decay" time = 1 second). If you requi...

Re: DD 5.1 cutting
I need the audio from 0.0.0 (start) to 0.03.37 (the remaining audio can be deleted, ok. => but I would be happy if at the same time were able to extract --near 0.0.0 to 0.03.37- - other parts too, e.g. 0.12.44 to 0.17.01 and 0.20.08 until the end of the source file. this were wonderful, so I would ...

Re: bbe sonic maximiser plug-in
it also comes with some atrocious reviews about their registration process That would put me off straight away. If they can't make registering a product a painless experience then they clearly don't care about their users (imho). You won't get full benefit of those products in Audacity (even if the...

Re: Persistent audio glitch using new computer
There's a list of suggestions on this page: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Managing_Computer_Resources_and_Drivers Many of them are more relevant to Windows, but as I'm not a Mac user you will have a better idea of which may apply than I do. I believe this type of problem is unusual on a Mac and ...

Re: Shaped files distorting/warping
I think you may have trodden on a bug. I've occasionally noticed weird things happening with envelope control points, but not often enough to pin down whether it's actually a bug or something I've done (though I suspect it a bug). What I've done in the past as a workaround for the problem is to sele...

Re: WAV file import only caught 15 minutes
Where did the file come from? Are you sure that it is WAV format, that it is 61 minutes long, and that it is not damaged (corrupt) in any way?
How much disk space is there on your hard drive?
Do you have more than one hard drive?
Have you change any of the settings in the Audacity Preferences?

Re: Persistent audio glitch using new computer
As you can see in the middle of the highlighted area, there is a bit of data missing: firsttrack000.png For some reason your Mac is unable to keep up with the amount of audio data. Do you have any idea why that might be? Is your hard drive busy doing something else? Are you trying to record direct t...
