Re: Bulk conversion from “.aup” projects to the FLAC format

Audacity does not provide any means for batch converting projects. The idea is that you work on the Audacity Project, then finish by Exporting the audio file. There is some information in this topic about controlling Audacity with external scripting: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=21&...

Re: Help! Audio quality degraded & can't be repaired

MP3 is a lossy compression format. In order to achieve a small file size, some of the data is thrown away and the remaining data is squashed together as tightly as possible. The discarded data cannot be recovered. The greater the compression amount, the smaller the file, but the more data is discard...

Re: Especifications of the native formats to recover lost fi

Audacity Projects have a complex structure. Recovering a deleted project may not be possible. Here's a description of what makes up an Audacity Project: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Audacity_Projects There is also a page about recovering projects that have been created by Audacity 1.2.x http:/...

Re: Problems while recording!(Cant describe in english)

That definitely sounds like "Noise Suppression" or "Echo Cancellation" or some similar effect.
Sometimes there is a second Sound Card Control Panel (it may be called "Realtek" or "SigmaTel"). If there is, then there may be more settings in there.

Re: Problems while recording!(Cant describe in english)

Could you post a short sample (less than 6 seconds) in WAV format.
Below the forum message composing box there is an option to "Upload attachment".

Re: No sound when importing midi

Audacity does not yet support playing MIDI files. The MIDI "Note Track" is just a visual guide.

Re: DD 5.1 cutting

Could you try and make your images a bit smaller - it's difficult to view this topic with such big images in it.

Try playing one track at a time (use the "Solo" button) so that you can hear what is in each track.

Re: Problems while recording!(Cant describe in english)

Where possible, could you trim your images down to just show the relevant detail - it's difficult to read your messages when the screen shots are so big. Is the problem that the sound is fading away during the recording? If so, see here: Why do my recordings fade out or sound as if they were made in...

Re: Metatags

Question is when and where the metatags on a wav file are used? Few programs other than Audacity support metadata in WAV files, so there's probably not much point filling it in. if I put a commercial CD in my computer and all the above information is displayed, is it ONLY because it was retrieved f...
