Re: remove noise during export to file

I found following properties for microphone input, which are turned on: “cut DC offset”, “suppression of interferences”, “Remove acoustic echo” Audacity records exactly the audio that it receives from the operating system with no additional processing. “Suppression of interferences” and “Remove aco...

Please start a new topic in the forum appropriate to your operating system and version of Audacity. Please also give full details of what equipment you are using, how it is...

Re: Audio does not play completely, cuts off early

I think that the problem may be unavoidable when using Audacity with PulseAudio due to the way that the audio is buffered. The problem should not occur if you use Jackd instead of PulseAudio. Alternatively, as a workaround, just select a bit (100 ms) more than you actually want to hear.

Re: appending 2 files into 1 long file

Thanks, I've found it. You mean this one? http://audacityteam.org/help/faq?s=editing&i=join I'll see if I can get that updated, though it may take a little while as all of the people with access to that part of the web site are currently tied up with getting the new Audacity (2.0) release ready....

Re: Side by Side configuration

If you have the 32 bit version of Vista, download Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) . Double-click on the downloaded "C:vcredist_x86.exe" file to run it and follow the instructions. If you are asked whether you want to uninstall or repair, choose "Repair"...

Re: appending 2 files into 1 long file

I have instructions for appending 2 files into 1 from the FAQs I'm not sure that the instructions that you are describing are actually the best way to do the job. Could you post a link to the FAQ that you are using? The way that I would do it would be simply to use the Time Shift tool (double heade...

Re: Low input volume

You probably shouldn't be using Audacity 1.2
The current version of Audacity (recommended for modern computers) is Audacity 1.3.14 which is available here: http://audacityteam.org/download/
Alternatively, the new Audacity 2.0 is due out in a few days.
