Re: Audacity crashes pulseaudio recording when opened

Try rebooting again (so that we are starting from a known "clean" start), then
1. Launch Audacity
2. In the Device Toolbar set both the Recording and Playback devices to :
HDA Intel PCH: ALC1220 Analog (hw:0,0)

3. Make a couple of test recordings and test playback.

What happens?

Re: REMOVE THE RESET CONFIGURATION BUTTON!

Please don't shout. WHY EVEN HAVE THAT THERE? Because we have a steady stream of people trying to reset Audacity by reinstalling - which does not reset Audacity. By adding a clearly marked command for resetting Audacity it becomes obvious how to reset Audacity. IS THERE A WAY TO UNDO THE RESET? Not ...

Re: basic editing: clip boundary question

Try this. I think it shows what is happening: 1. Select a 10 second region. 2. "Ctrl + i" (split) 3. Select a 3 second region 4. "Ctrl + C" (Copy) 5. Double click the 10 second region created in step 2 (the 10 second region is selected) 6. "Ctrl + V" (paste) Notice that...

Re: Hide 'Check for Updates'

The "Check for updates" menu command does not update Audacity. It only opens the user's default web browser on this page: https://www.audacityteam.org/download Even if you disable the menu item, that does not prevent your employees from visiting https://www.audacityteam.org/download If you...

Re: Microphone

I have an external studio mic. What sort of mic is it, and how is it connected to your computer? If it is a USB mic, connect it to the computer before launching Audacity. The mic should then be available as a recording device in the Device Toolbar . If Audacity is already running when you connect t...

Re: basic editing: clip boundary question

I think it's because CursSelEnd: Split: created it. No, it's not that. This is what happens when I test your Macro (I've changed the times for illustration purposes): SelSave: SelectTracks:Mode="Set" Track="2" TrackCount="1" SelectTime:End="6" RelativeTo=&quo...

How close is the mic to your mouth?
Are you using a pop filter?
