Re: Mixdown to Existing Track
I doubt that there will be any interest from the developers for adding a feature to mix just part of one or more tracks (rather than the entire track) unless there is some compelling reason why such a feature would be needed (and I can't think of one). I think there is a good case for not always put...

Re: Tips on Cleaning Up (or "Fixing") Bad Recordings
My #1 top tip is to make a backup of the original recording before doing anything else. 6. Noise Removal Yes it works. No its not magic. :D very true. The main thing to take care about with Noise Removal is not to overdo it. If there is a lot of noise (and there usually is from camcorder recordings)...

Re: Hum/Noise w/o
Skype is not running -- session is not on, although I do have Skype & use it, there never has been a problem with Aud 1.2 & Skype. Sorry to keep banging on about Skype but it is relevant on 2 counts: 1) In order to be able to reliably work for voip with a minimum of user intervention, Skype...

Re: Audacity won't launch
You probably can't use Pro-53 in Audacity as it looks pretty clear that Audacity was choking on it. The most simple workaround is to disable VST support in Audacity and then re-install Pro-53. To check that VST is disabled in Audacity, open Audacity and go into Preferences (from the Audacity menu), ...

Re: Mixdown to Existing Track
So far as I know, the "Mix and Render" always goes unto a newly created track. That is correct. I would like for it to go directly unto an EXISTING track, already in the project. Audacity does not do that, but from the point of view of a potential "feature request", how would th...

Re: Mixdown to Existing Track
I'm not totally sure what you're trying to do, but perhaps this will help:
Duplicate the parts that you want to mix down (Ctrl + D)
Select the duplicate track(s) and "Tracks > Mix and Render"
Duplicate the parts that you want to mix down (Ctrl + D)
Select the duplicate track(s) and "Tracks > Mix and Render"

Re: Multichannel Export
I'd just keep them as separate tracks. Note that Audacity does not support multi-channel playback so if you need to play back some of the tracks while you are working: 1) Click on the track name and from the drop down menu set whether you want it to play through left / right or mono (both) speakers....
