Re: Export Multiple & generated 1,240 mini-files

When I opened the file, there were 1,240 .aup files If you look more closely you will see that you have not opened "the file", you have opened a "folder" and the files in that folder are not ".aup" files they are ".au" files. These are not your exported files...

Re: Recording guitar with laptop problem

It's difficult to make a decent microphone input cheaply, which is why computer microphone inputs are so often horrible. It's much easier to make a reasonable line level input, so these are usually a lot less horrible. If you have the option of using your father's desktop PC with the line input I'd ...

Re: Ripping Vinyl

I know from my very extensive experience of high-end digital photography that even if the final output file specification is fairly modest – a JPEG, for example, has only 8 bits per colour – any post-processing needs to start from a RAW file with much greater bit-depthe and resolution. I assume muc...

Re: Frequency Change Question

Use the Change Speed effect and change the speed by -1.818182 % That will slow the track down very slightly so that an original pitch of 440 Hz will play at 432 Hz. The way to calculate the % change is: 100 x (new frequency - original frequency)/original frequency so for 440 Hz > 432 Hz that is: 100...

Re: Contrast Analysis not Working

The Contrast tool only works on mono tracks.
I'm unsure if the tool was ever intended to work on stereo tracks. Did it work on stereo tracks in your previous version? Do you know the exact version number that you were using previously?

Re: Computer locks up with Audacity 2.0

Does the problem occur with one specific Audacity Project?
Does Audacity 2.0 work OK if you create a new project?

Re: Ripping Vinyl

About half the track height (-6 dB) for the loudest peaks is a good recording level.
For best quality ensure that the default bit format is 32-bit float (Edit menu > Preferences > Quality).

Re: Rhythm synchonization

There is no automatic way to do that.
You can use the Time Shift tool to move the left/right position of a track.
You can use the "Change Tempo" or "Sliding Time Scale / Pitch Shift" to change the tempo (speed).
