Re: Cannot Open or Import .aup Files - SOLVED!

Is there a way to add an AUP to another AUP as a second track? I only know how to add an audio file by importing. You can't add an Audacity Project to another Audacity Project, but you can add the audio from one project to another project. The safest way to do this is to Export the required track o...

Re: (soft) file associations lost

We need to make a distinction between file associations with "Audacity Projects" and file associations with "audio files". This is how it works on XP: When Audacity 1.3.x is installed, Windows creates a registry key to identify the Audacity Project (Audacity.Project) and the Auda...

Re: Multiple autosave files

Your computer goes up in a ball of digital flames and after you mop up the mess, you can simply launch Audacity and open up the last known good auto-saved show. Audacity 2.0 (and the last few 1.3.x beta releases) accomplish that pretty well. What the auto save does not protect against is if the use...

Re: USB Mic Extreme Noise, clicks

My guess is that you're recording in the UK. The buzz is at 50 Hz which is the frequency of mains power in the UK. Interference as bad as that suggests to me that there is a ground connection missing somewhere. Are you able to test the microphone with a different USB cable (if it's detachable) and a...

Re: USB Mic Extreme Noise, clicks

Yes the noise and clicks persist when recording silence, even when the mic is completely isolated. Could you post one of those clicks as a WAV file. To make a wave file with a click, make a recording, then stop the recording. Select a couple of seconds of the track by clicking and dragging along th...

Re: I accidentally recorded 4 hours. How do I delete most of

Has the "Date Rollover Feature" been fixed? the audacity timer is famous for rolling the date to the next day when you make a mistake entering the hours. When you correct the hours entry, the date would not roll back turning your one hour recording into 25 hours. Seems to work fine here, ...

Re: Quick Help and Manual

Personally I've set up a folder on the "Bookmarks Toolbar" of my web browser (Firefox) and have several bookmarks in that folder to a number of pages in the manual, and some pages in the Audacity wiki . As the Audacity help is in HTML format and displays in the web browser, I find that thi...
