Re: ACX Check: RMS vs Peak

ACX doesn't like "Radio Theater." No organ music, orchestra background, bands, or other effects, or theatrical sounds. That "rule" does not appear to be cast in stone (and there are many other audiobook publishers - ACX / Amazon are just the biggest), but as you say, music compl...

Re: Audacity crashes pulseaudio recording when opened

Killing processes probably isn't the best approach to get something working though. True, but can be useful for testing. Better to Terminate the process, allowing it to clean up after itself, but processes can ignore terminate so you would need to also check that it did actually terminate, and that...

Re: I have 1000's of au files syncing to my computer

Don't use dropbox for Audacity projects.

An Audacity project has a "project file" (".aup") and a "_data" folder. Inside the "_data" folder is the project's audio data - a large project may contain thousands of ".au" files.

What I have learned is that if you set Audacity to the maximum number of channels (10, for a UMC1820) and simply hit "record", Audaicity will record 10 channels at once using the UMC1820.
That's useful information.
Are you also able to record less than 10 channels?

Re: Audacity failed to read a file in C:

What is the full path to the file? For example: C:\Users\fred\Documents\Audacity\YOK DEVE GİRİŞ BÖLÜMÜ 8 KASIM.aup I suspect that the problem is that the full name and path has too many characters. By default, Windows has a limit of 256 characters for path names, and Audacity projects have folders w...

i am mainly doing this simply to visually inspect two different audio files to see if they are essentially the same
That will be much easier if you import both into the same project.

Both projects have different names.
What are their names (including the full directory path)?

Re: full screen but only on 2nd audio file

but if i open up a another audio file Firstly, you should not normally need to do that. Audacity is a multi-track audio editor, so if you need multiple audio files open at the same time you can Import them into one project. If you find that you need multiple Audacity windows open at the same time, ...
