Re: Error to Reference in line 7?
Make a backup copy of the .AUP file. Open the original .AUP file in a plain text editor (such as NotePad for Windows or GEdit for Linux) and delete the line: <tag name="TITLE" value="¸yÃd Effects - GLASS, SMASH - LARGE WINDOW PANE: HEAVY IMPACT SMASH, HIT, CRASH"/> ...

Re: Noise removed in Audacity but not in exported file
If you import the processed file back into Audacity and play it, how does it sound?
What program were you using to play the exported file?
Were you listening with the same headphones/speakers?

Re: audacity 2.0 svn on Ubuntu 10.04
It can't seem to find my FFMPEG libs, even though I downloaded source, compiled and installed them. FFmpeg can be a pain because of dependencies. I believe that FFmpeg is included in the Audacity dependencies, and the standard Ubuntu distro version of FFmpeg should work fine with Audacity 2.0. The ...

Re: Removing certian noises
Have you seen in spy films where the hero goes into the bathroom and turns on the shower when his room is bugged so that the baddies can't hear what he's saying? That part is quite realistic. The shower makes "broadband noise" (wide range of frequencies) that masks his voice. If the broadb...

Re: Noise removed in Audacity but not in exported file
i mark part of the file with just noise. Effect > Noise Removal > Get Noise Profile Select everything (Cmd+A) Effect > Noise Removal > OK I play the file, no noise. I think I’m done and can just export the file. That sounds just right (though tweaking some of the settings in the Noise Removal effec...

Re: audacity 2.0 svn on Ubuntu 10.04
Expression 'stream->capture.pcm' failed in 'src/hostapi/alsa/pa_linux_alsa.c', line: 3857 That's normal. It's just an information message, not an error message. This is what I get when launching Audacity if Jack is not running: ALSA lib pcm.c:2190:(snd_pcm_open_noupdate) Unknown PCM cards.pcm.rear ...

Re: How About A Reverb For *Musicians*
I've got some pretty good Nyquist reverb effects that I use myself. They are slower than GVerb or VST reverbs, but they could be made easy to use (presets), and they are true stereo reverbs. A primitive example is here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=59168 If anyone is intere...

Re: Multiple autosave files
Perhaps it would be a reasonable feature request to have a feature for: "Make full project backup copy when idle: Minimum backup interval [ 20 ] minutes." Maybe but that needs a lot of disk space as (I think) you mean saving a complete new _data folder. You can do this manually now with F...

Re: Noise removed in Audacity but not in exported file
Well the peak level for the entire track is a bit low, but that noise level is very high. By default Audacity does add a tiny bit of noise when exporting a 16 bit file, but I mean really tiny (around -90 dB RMS). This "noise" is dither noise, and is intentional as it reduces the "nois...
