Re: Problem with Normalise
am I right in assuming that the enveloped audio data is changed in the exported WAV/MP3/whatever file? Yes that's correct. When the project is exported all un-muted tracks are mixed down to a single file. If there is just one track then it is "rendered" to a single file (which is pretty m...

Re: Normalise Bug in Chain?
Can you elaborate a little further on the problem and perhaps how common it might be? Also whether it is something that might be patched in future? It's a pretty obscure bug that requires a specific series of conditions (hence it took me a while to pin down how to reproduce the issue). I've added a...

Re: Merging two projects into one
the tempo is the same Is it exactly the same? If not, the two recordings will drift out of time which will be tricky to fix. I am going to do my portion from a cdg (karaoke) into audacity also. I presume that you want this with the karaoke backing? I have recorded her portion she did on singsnap wi...
Re: Delay
the sound is registered and comes out of the speakers a milisecond after the sound goes in. I bet you mean a lot more than a millisecond. A millisecond delay would not be noticeable. Go to the Transport menu and de-select the "Software Playthrough" option. This may mean that you cannot mo...

Re: Normalise Bug in Chain?
I think I've found the problem.
As a workaround, set the following Preference and I think Normalize will work correctly:
Edit menu > Preferences > Import/Export
"When importing audio files" > "Make a copy"

Re: Recovering audio apparently 'lost' via full disk
What are those situations? I was trying to remember that when I wrote it, but I don't remember for sure. I just remember that I tried it and there was something that was really annoying so I changed it back. Virtually every situation where I'd actually want to use xplorer2 I explicitly open xplorer...

Re: adding continuous playing tracks to a single long record
You will need to respond OK for each Label in the 'mediadata' screen If you're not needing to enter Metadata for each track you can bypass this step by changing a setting in Preferences: Edit menu > Preferences > Import/Export De-select (un-check) " Show Metadata Editor prior to export step &q...

Re: Problem with Normalise
I know that Mix'n Merge track will make it possible to commit normalizing. You are close to the answer. When you use the Envelope Tool it does not alter the audio data. The volume envelope takes effect during playback by adjusting the playback level as it plays, but the actual recorded audio data i...
