On the same computer with the same operating system and the same sound card?MusicBuffy wrote:I had no issues with the 1.3 Beta version
Check that "Stereo Mix" is enabled on your computer (see here for details: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer ... es#vistacp )
Re: SOS
When you "Save" from Audacity, it does not create an audio file, it creates an "Audacity Project". The Audacity Project is not just one file, there is the "project file" (a file with a ".aup" extension) and then the audio data that is used in the project. To c...

Re: Please Help
It's usually best to minimise buzz/noise at source rather than relying on post-processing.
How exactly are you recording, with what equipment? Do you have a good level on the mixing desk? What sort of mixer? How is the mixer connected to the computer? The more information you supply the better.

Re: Clipping/ Distortion
You may need to turn down the recording level using the operating system mixer. On Vista / Win 7 it is often necessary to set the recording level for USB turntables extremely low. See here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/USB_turntables#Recordings_too_loud_or_soft and also: http://wiki.audacitytea...

Re: REPLACEMENT FOR SKYPE RECORDER
The free version of Pamela will allow you to record calls of up to 15 minutes duration. If you can split your "interview" into 4 or 5 separate calls then the free version of Pamela may be all that you need. If you find Pamela meets your needs, the pro version (unlimited call duration) is r...

Re: build a context menu
Very interesting. The pop-up menu on Right Click works some of the time. It builds OK but there's a warning during "make": TrackPanel.cpp: In member function ‘virtual bool TrackPanel::HandleTrackLocationMouseEvent(WaveTrack*, wxRect&, wxMouseEvent&)’: TrackPanel.cpp:5018: warning: ...

Re: bit rate & gain level?
I'd recommend setting Audacity to 32-bit 44100 Hz (44100 Hz sample rate is ideal if the final show is going to be CD or MP3). Adjust the record level so that the highest peaks in the Audacity track are about half the track height. If you''re recording from a USB turntable, yes you can connect the RC...

Re: Track labels
After adding a label, ensure that you press the Return (Enter) key so as to close the label text, otherwise when you next press the L key it will simply add an "L" to the label text.
