Re: Can't find the audio i/0 tab in preference for recording
Settings are Playback-"Realtek AC97 Audio, record- USB Audio Codec, Channel 2 Stereo That looks to be correct. The mixer tool bar does not function. the input signal level is -6.0 db That is normal for USB devices as the recording gain for USB devices is not usually controllable by software. H...

Sorry we can't download from that site. It only allows playing via their in-line web application and does not allow downloading the file.

Re: Clipping/ Distortion
As you can see here (zoomed in), the audio is still clipping: fullwindow000.png This confirms that the problem has nothing to do with Audacity. It is the same record I have played and recorded with the old computer and this same very equipment (turntable, cartridge, and needle) and it sounds fine. I...

Re: Submit your EQ Curves
The problem with Equalizer program is: "Uncaught exception in main method: java.lang.NullPointerException" I doubt that anyone here will be able to help with that problem as it is nothing to do with Audacity. If you want to use that program you will probably need to contact the developer ...

Your project probably contains invalid metadata. Try deleting the metadata from your project and then try saving. If that does not work or if you require help in doing that, please see the text that is written in red near the top of this page and repost your question in the relevant part of the forum.

Re: Clipping/ Distortion
You could upload it to one of the free file sharing sites such as http://www.sendspace.com/ and then post a link.
Alternatively, Import the file into Audacity and then export a few seconds in WAV format (doing this will not change the audio).

In the Windows recording settings you need to set the USB device as the default recording device.dochiphop wrote:when I record with windows sound recorder I get no sound.... just silence. Im not sure how to fix this to get you an audio sample.
