Re: Can I mix on the *Same* track?
The method that PGA describes is the "proper" way to do a cross-fade, but there are a couple of plug-ins available that enable cross-fading songs that are one after the other on the same track. Two versions are available from the first post in this topic: http://forum.audacityteam.org/view...

Re: Error message
As PGA wrote, a default installation of 2.0 does not overwrite a default installation of 1.3.x, but it is best that you have upgraded. I was just wanting to check that you were not using an ancient (possibly buggy) version of Audacity. See here for how to access the Windows 7 mixer. http://wiki.auda...

Re: help had a crash while recording
Oh dear oh dear oh dear. If you open that .AUP file in a text editor (for example NotePad) you will see that the header information is present, but that's all. There is no information about the audio data. In effect it is an empty project. <?xml version="1.0" standalone="no" ?> <...

Re: Patching into one track
If I understand you correctly, would this be an example: Copy the audio between 1:04.234 and 1:23.567 on track 1 To 1:04.234 and 1:23.567 on track 2 If that's correct, here is one way to do it; Select from 1:04.234 and 1:23.567 on track 1 (the part that you want to copy). Ctrl+C (or select "Cop...

Re: Issue importing a certain .wav
Its not a standard WAV file. It does appear to contain audio data. It does not appear to be in a format supported by Audacity. The file is "headerless" (unlike a standard WAV file, or most other audio formats, it does not include any information about what the format is). If you know where...

Re: Trouble with sound-warp
Now I just gotta stare at it for a while and figure out why. If you get to a sufficient understanding where you can explain it clearly enough for anyone to understand, please explain it to me and I'll put it in the Nyquist documentation. I spent about a week staring at this type of thing to get an ...

Re: Error message
You say "Audacity 1.3.x" - what is the "x"? (look in "Help > About Audacity") Go to the Edit menu and select Preferences, then go to the "Devices" tab. What options are available (all of the options) and what options are currently selected? Now go to the "...

Re: Drivers or lack there of...
Sorry I misread your post. The USB Cassette Capture device probably uses the Windows generic USB audio driver. That driver is not a separate piece of software, it's built into the USB driver. The first thing we need to try to do is to establish where the problem lies. The USB icon pops up It pops up...
