Thank you!
The alpha release is no longer relevant. You are replying to a post that is over 6 months old. That alpha version has been superseded by Audacity 2.0 which is available here: http://audacityteam.org/download/

Re: Audacity 2.0 in educational environment

Hmm, strange. Something that you can try that may help to diagnose the problem: It's possible to make a "portable" version of Audacity that will run (albeit sluggishly) of a USB stick or other location. Download the ZIP version of Audacity from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/window...

Re: Audacity 2.0 in educational environment

I presume that you are aware that it is Windows that is creating the "Error" message and not Audacity. When you import a file or record, the audio data is (by default) saved in the Audacity temporary folder. You can check the location of that folder by looking in "Edit > Preferences >...

Re: Deleted files and restoring

P.S. For video and especially for PowerPoint type presentations it is always worth testing the disk on other computers - preferably test on Win XP, Win 7, Vista, Mac OSX and Linux. For Windows only, Powerpoint has a feature to make a standalone package: After you have saved the powerpoint show (*.pp...

Re: Deleted files and restoring

Also would the marker not be hearing it as she does not have the program installed on her computer? They may be using a different version of PowerPoint. Microsoft are notorious for bringing out new versions of programs that produce files that do not open properly in older versions. Alternatively yo...
