Is there a way to adjust the origin of the time scale? When I listened to the sample I didn't hear any actual "distortion" (overload distortion) though I could clearly hear the gain levels changing (some notes sound like they fade in rather than being struck). It is that "gain fluctuation" that my post was addressing.

No that's not Audacity. Audacity does not have such a message and Audacity does not expire.

Are you sure that it is Audacity 2.0 (look in the "Help menu > About Audacity").
