Re: Date time formatting possible? (For label plugin)
Nyquist does not have date/time functions, but it should not be too difficult to make something. For anyone else reading this thread, the background to this topic is here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=65004 What are you after - labels in 5 minute intervals? Half hour interv...

Re: Method required for establishing "real" time
On the other hand, I just found that plugin's code at C:Program FilesAudacityPlug-Insequalabel.ny and it's in plain text Yes, plain text :D It's a "Nyquist" plug-in. Nyquist is a programming language for audio and music that has been embedded into Audacity. It's pretty well documented - a...

Re: Unwanted sound in recordings
It sounds like the problem may be with your sound card drivers. Increasing the sample rate should make no audible difference to bass notes. If you're happy to use 96kHz sample rate as a workaround then you don't need to do anything else. If you'd rather try and fix the problem, see here: http://wiki...

I wouldn't expect so.bomber1978 wrote:is there likely to be an actual audible difference to the file I changed with the older Audacity?

Re: Can't record an mp3 file
I don't seem to have stereo mix on my computer. When I look in Volume Control/Properties/Recording there are only line in, rear mic and microphone - no stereo mix. (dell inspiron Intel (R) Core (TM)2 CPU [email protected].13GHz; windows version 4c29 3.95 EnhancedNT; XP Professional. ) Did you "show disco...

Re: ubuntu 11.10: toolbars and other gui items are missing
Audacity does not function properly on my Hebrew Ubuntu 11.10 machine. The right-to-left text at the bottom of your screenshot was the clue :) It's also on the Ubuntu bug tracking site: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/audacity/+bug/734023 There's a possible workaround given at the end of ...

Re: Can't get the same samples using speed change
I'm not sure I can hear a difference but I have noticed the difference by comparing with the EAC programme in "WAV Compare" and it says the samples are different... That could be as little as 1 bit different anywhere in the file and is not necessarily significant. If it sounds right I'd n...

Re: Clipping/ Distortion
Strange, I've always used the generic Windows USB audio driver with my UCA202 and I thought that the driver from the Behringer site was just the ASIO driver (which Audacity does not use), however I notice that their site now says "Supporting ASIO and WDM driver models" so perhaps they've t...

Re: Can't get the same samples using speed change
Have I got this right: You have two RAW files - one is the original and one has had the speed changed. If you now change the speed of the original file, the result is different from the one that you made two years ago? How much different is it? Does it sound different? How can you be sure that you a...

Re: No sound when recording
Topic moved to the Windows forum. Check in the Windows mixer that the USB device is visible and enabled. The quickest way to access the mixer is to right-click over the speaker icon in the System Tray > Recording Devices. See here for some pictures: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer_Toolbar_Is...
