Re: Date time formatting possible? (For label plugin)

To me it looks as if the "Regular Interval Labels" plugin included in the Audacity distribution is a much later and better version of the "Regular Interval Labels" plugin from the Audacity homepage, what seems to be an original David Sky plugin. Yes the one on the Audacity site ...

Re: Cleaning up Microphone Static

The "squiggle" is only in the left channel which means that interference from an outside source is unlikely to be the cause - it's most likely just a poor sound card. If you split the track (click on the track name and select "Spit to mono" then delete the left track, the noise r...

Re: Cleaning up Microphone Static

Wow that's weird. It's not "distortion". There's quite a lot of "hiss" noise, plus there's a peculiar "squeaking" sound. It is visible in the first half second of that clip (before you start talking) if you set the track to Spectrum View squiggle.png It's interference o...

Re: save folder question

You might be able to fake it by setting the working directory for Audacity when starting Audacity (in the shortcut properties) but this may cause other things not to work. I can confirm that works, and I see no ill effects. If the working directory in the shorcut properties is set immediately after...

Re: No sound when recording

Unplug the line 6 pocket pod and reboot your computer. Windows should then revert to the normal sound card.

Re: Cannot record streaming on Ubuntu 11.10

Sorry, I'm too stupid to follow those instructions, they are way too complex for me. The most important part is that you install "PulseAudio Volume Control" (also called "pavucontrol"). If you install that then the instructions will probably make sense - the instructions are pre...

"Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "pixmap"" That may be relevant. I noticed that when changing languages Ubuntu offered to change the names of certain paths (for example changing "home" to whatever "home" is in the selected language. It's possibl...

Re: ubuntu 11.10: toolbars and other gui items are missing

Steve, i am very interested in resolving this and would appreciate any help ! I made that offer when I had some ideas about how to possibly resolve the problem, however since then I've tried some things myself and I'm at a loss. I've no idea how to resolve the problem other than not using Right to ...

Distortion and Robot Voice Challenge

A challenge for all Nyquist plug-in authors. Currently Audacity has a distortion effect, the mis-named "Leveller". The Leveller effect can be useful in creating "aircraft pilot" and "Walkie Talkie" type voices along with other "Robot" voices and other effects...
