I used a polite word, but it wasn't the first word that came to mind ;)

Re: Track names don't show after saving

Standard CDs do not have named tracks. Commercial CDs may appear to have named tracks when playing in Windows Media Player, but WMP can look up the names for commercial CDs from an on-line database. Windows Media Player is not a good CD burning program. By default it creates CDs that will not play o...

Re: Recording Inbound from two sources?

2. Have everyone record simultaneously and send data to one person for editing (the optimal choice of what I've found) I'd recommend that method. If the soundcard has the capability of recording from several inputs at the same time, then you could try to mix the audio signals from the soundcard inp...

Re: File Association

The problem is due to the way that Windows handles file associations. If you previously associated audio file types with a version of Audacity 1.3.x then Windows will be unable to associate audio files with Audacity 2.0 Do you still have the old version of Audacity installed? (there's different fixe...

Re: Editing

Could we use proper English please. Firstly - work only on copies of your recordings, not on the originals. Keep the originals safe as a backup. When you import multiple files Audacity will import them one above the other like this: tracks000.png Use the Time Shift tool to move them so that they fol...

I prefer the term "limitation".
Wav, Ogg, Flac formats don't have this limitation, so if you need a gap-less start, use one of those formats.

Re: Waveform to Oscilloscope

I created a 50Hz waveform using Audacity. I then saved the waveform on SD card and applied that waveform to an AC generator. When I hooked up the oscilloscope to the generator, I recieved something far greater than 50Hz. Is this an error on my part? Probably ;) What was this "AC Generator"...

Re: No sound when recording

or just reset the output device to be your on-board souncard with the Device Toolbar - see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Device_Toolbar That will only affect Audacity playback, it won't affect sound from other applications. To enable the normal sound card for all applications you need to eith...

Re: Flac files cause Audacity to crash

I've renamed the topic to better match the actual problem. If that does not help, are the files small enough that you can upload an example somewhere from where we could download it? Yes please - that will allow us to see if there is anything unusual with the Flac files. This is one of the main thin...

Re: Audacity Speeding Up my Cassettes!

"Software Playthrough" should not cause a "Chipmunk" effect, though I can see why it might. If the computer has difficulty keeping up with full duplex sound then it is likely to cause bits of audio to be missing from the recording (drop-outs). If the drop outs are occurring very ...
