Re: Importing Audio Books
Import the files (they will stack up one above the other) Zoom out (use the magnifier tool, or Ctrl+3 , or Ctrl+Mouse Wheel ) Click on one of the tracks. It doesn't matter which one, this is just to ensure that all of the tracks are not "selected" (highlighted). Change to the "Time Sh...

Re: Quick Named Pipe Question, move cursor
I'm not sure if this is what you mean:
1) Press the Home key (cursor moves to the start)
2) Press the "[" key (a "Left Position" window pops up)
3) Enter the required time.
4) Press "Enter" or click the "OK" button.

Re: No Record
I get the message "no device found". What device does the massage mean? It means that Audacity cannot find a recording input (device) to record from. This is not uncommon on Windows Vista/ Win 7 because Windows often disables/hides the recording inputs. In fact it's so common that we list...

Re: Opening audacity in W.M.Player
Personally I wouldn't use WMP for making CDs. We hear of a lot of problems with WMP when used to try and make audio CDs. I'd recommend that you install (free) CDBurnerXP . When installed, click on the option to make an audio CD. There are then 2 windows, one is a browser window where you can navigat...

Re: Can a Mac project be edited in Windows?
Also keep in mind that some characters are allowed in file names on Mac that are not allowed on Windows.
If the project names use just "letters, numbers, space, hyphen, underscore" then that will not be a problem.

Re: How to.....
You could try the "Sound Activated Recording" feature.
You will need to carefully adjust the Sound Activation Level so that it records whenever the tape is playing and stops when the tape is stopped.

Re: Detecting & Locating a Tone
Here's a new experimental plug-in that you can try. Try it on a short selection that contains a beep first so that you have an idea of the necessary threshold level. The default tone frequency is 440 Hz. Note that this is an experimental plug-in. Ensure that your work is backed up before trying this...

Re: Detecting & Locating a Tone
However I'm not sure whether a Call Waiting Tone that occurs in the midst of a telephone conversation while two people are speaking will be visible I doubt that it will be easily visible. Do you know what the tone frequency is? 440 Hz? How loud is the tone? (if recorded when there is no voice, how ...
