Transport and Meter toolbars dockable in the Mixer Board.
This topic raises the question/difficulty/feature request for allowing the Mixer Board to be pinned on top of other windows. On Linux this can already be done. For example on Debian, click on the top left corner of the Mixer window and select "Always on Top". In the Feature Request page o...

Re: Me or Audacity?
I think there "would" be a case for Audacity to provide a way to pin Mixer Board, but this may be difficult to implement cross-platform. For Linux no change is necessary. For example on Debian, click on the top left corner of the Mixer window and select "Always on Top". I don't ...

Re: Which interface ?
Electric guitar (Strat) via Alesis Quadraverb GT So really you want to record the output of the Alesis Quadraverb? The Behringer UCA 202 will be able to do that as long as you don't overload the recording level. It is also cheap. I wrote a review for the UCA 202 in the Recording Equipment section: ...

Re: Creating a Loud and Clear Sound
Also, Audacity's maximum output level seems low to me... I'm running the output level right up to the top just before clipping. Is there a way to increase this? You want to turn it up to 11 ? Note that Win 7 has "per application" volume controls. Sound cards cannot play signals greater th...

Re: Text input widget not visible if default string is blank
Now I'm confused. Don't be confused ;) just use <space><space><space> if you want two empty strings rather than <space><double-quote><double-quote><space><double-quote><double-quote> (which is the one that doesn't work). I can see your intention with <space><double-quote><double-quote><space><doubl...

Re: Cannot open 2.0 after installation
The error message reads that the configuration is incorrect For future reference, please quote the full and exact error message and which version of Windows you are using. My guess is that you are using Windows XP and the error message said: "C:Program FilesAudacityaudacity.exe This applicatio...

Re: Sound card crossfeed ???
If the Device Toolbar setting changed then is it possible that it picked that up from an old Audacity 1.2.x (registry) setting?

Re: Text input widget not visible if default string is blank
This, with the default string set to blank: ;control text "Some text" string "" "" doesn't display at all. You are one parameter short. Audacity will read that as: <double-quote>""<double-quote> which is one string but there needs to be two parameters separat...

Re: Getting Started
The problem is, there is a delay from playing the note and hearing it. You need to monitor the sound directly from the input and not monitor it after it has "echoed" through the software. In the Transport menu, turn off "Software Playthrough". I don't know what your setup is but...
