Re: How to check if a file is a "real" 24bit?

1 is presented as 16bit, 44,1 kHz, 501kb/s That's not right for PCM audio. 16-bit at 44.1 kHz is 705.6 kb/s for mono (1411.2 kb/s for stereo). 2 is presented as 24bits, 44,1 kHz, 1206 kb/s That's not right for PCM audio either. 24bits at 44,1 kHz is 1058.4 kb/s for mono. What format are the files?

how I can "clear the clipboard"?
Open the "Punch Copy" effect, select "Clear Clipboard" in the first control, then click the "OK" button.

Re: Is a Warning equivalent to a Fail?

It has me set Limter to, Type: Hard Limit, As the creator of the Audacity Limiter effect, I would not recommend using "Hard Limit" for audiobook recordings. That setting is too aggressive in my opinion for spoken word. I notice that the instructions that DVDdoug linked to (https://wiki.au...

Re: Error message Bad big_values count

See here for a possible workaround: https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=408815#p408815 If it is relevant, seems always to occur around 15 seconds from the end of the import process. I'd guess there is some corrupt data in the file close to the end of the file. The above workaround may all...

Re: Recording issue. Out of ideas.

It looks like there is a "phase inversion" problem somewhere in the playback system. As jademan wrote, it could be a wiring problem.

The current version of Audacity is 2.4.2 and it is available via the Audacity website: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/

You may find the "Getting Started" guide helpful for learning what Audacity can do: https://manual.audacityteam.org/quick_help.html

Re: Echo in playback of recording / no click removal

What exactly are you recording?
What equipment are you using and how is it connected together?
What settings are you using in the Device Toolbar?
Is "Software Playthrough" enabled? (it should normally be off / disabled / not selected)

when I play back the track with the panning controls in the center, playback is really quiet. If I pan to the right or left, the audio plays at the correct level.
How are you playing back the recording?
Does the issue happen if you play a mono track (single channel track)?
