Re: Editing Labels
I opened the label editor, highted the last last one and clicked delete You need to click the "Remove" button. An alternative way to delete labels is to click in the label text, delete the label text (Del or backspace) then when the text is all removed press Del or backspace once more. (i...

Re: Possible undo bug in 2.0
Tested on Linux with Audacity 2.0.1 alpha (May 6th) and I can't reproduce the problem.
It may be platform independent. What's your OS?
Is the problem repeatable with a new project?

Re: ASIO Audacity and M-Audio devices
I can't help with the driver issues, but regarding other software have you tried Reaper for recording (you can still use Audacity for editing).

Re: recording help
Is there a file in there with a ".AUP file extension?jonrandom wrote:I saved it in my general downloads folder
I presume that you are using some version of Windows? If so you will probably find it helpful to "show all file extensions" (Google if you don't know how to do that).

Re: Is there anyway to Unfade / Defade out the ending of a s
If the song fades to silence then it will be impossible to "un-fade" it completely. To completely unfade you need to amplify each part of the fade so as to restore it to the pre-fade level, but at the very end of the fade the level is zero (silence) or just low level noise, and you can't g...

Re: Help - Audio Conversion
I've checked but unfortunately it is not possible to (automatically) convert the sample rate using Chains without user input. Do your really need the quality to go as low as 16 kbps? If you do then the only workaround that I can think of is to use a dedicated format converter. SUPER by erightsoft is...

Re: MP3 Problem
I still cannot record tapes as MP3 files. For clarity, Audacity does not "record as MP3". Audacity creates "Audacity Projects". From the Audacity project you can then "Export" an MP3. Please read this section for more detail, this is a crucial concept: http://manual.au...

Re: Help - Audio Conversion
The first of the VOB files was subjected to various steps of the "Chain" till a window popped up informing the incompatibility of the sample rate (44 k Hz) with the export bitrate (16 kbps). I should have seen that coming. It is quite normal that on importing a file into a new (empty) pro...
